Botafogo lost 3-0 to Flamengo on Sunday the 30th at the Maracanã, in Round 25 of the Brazilian Championship. The Black and Whites found some space in the second half, but ended the derby punished for a performance that never turned signs of a response into a result.
Match review
Flamengo opened the scoring through Samuel Lino in the 12th minute and controlled most of the first half. Botafogo returned more competitive after the break and enjoyed their best spell of the match, but failed to take the chances that could have brought an equaliser. The bill arrived late. Samuel Lino scored again in the 85th minute, and Jorge Carrascal completed the scoring three minutes later. The 3-0 defeat exposed the distance between suggesting a comeback and actually mounting one.Starters
